FAQ for radeonlcd kernel module

What is it?

This is a Linux kernel module to handle LCD backlight of laptops equipped
with ATI Radeon video chips. It registers itself as a console blank
solution, and automatically turns off LCD backlight at console blanking.

What are system requirements?
-----------------------------
- Laptop with ATI Radeon video chip
- Linux system with kernel 2.4 or 2.6.

How to install?
---------------
You have to have a correctly configured kernel source tree matching with
your running kernel. If you have try:

$ make
$ make install
$ modprobe radeonlcd

What about XFree86?
-------------------
It is for console only. For X I recommend you radeontool available at
http://fdd.com/software/radeon/
